DESIGN INTENT:
Formerly a bakery, this site sits elevated amongst the gum trees in Red Hill. What appealed most to our client was the surrounding community of neighboring stores and residents of which she is one.
Our design brief was to create a space that envelops every occupant and feels warm, free-flowing, and nourishing. Through the palette and materials, we aimed to create a space that disconnects you from your everyday world, with the only connection to the world beyond the room being a vista to the green treetops framed by all existing windows. The space would be one designed to welcome all.
“ The spaces created by Orr Made are beautiful and perfectly executed. It is evident that Matt and Rhiannon are passionate about design details and a quality outcome to all aspects of the job. The high level of workmanship and attention to detail has far surpassed our expectations. “

Natural tactile finishes and sustainability were paramount to this client’s brief and were executed as priority, including the application of sustainably sourced cork flooring, timber veneer, Porter’s Stone Paint Coarse, and linen sheers, which run along two walls.
Elements such as the curved walls, retail display niche, and studio space pivot door add softness to the angular spaces. Recessed ceiling lighting provides indirect ambience, which is complimented by plaster wall sconces and sourced vintage glass wall lights in the entry and powder room.
