OMAROO HOUSE
This project was treated in two stages with each arm of the business. Rhiannon led some interior design advice for friend and owner of Omaroo, Jade Roberts. The mid-century home had a great canvas to work with. Some great original features remained and were mindfully restored, including existing panelling, slate tiling on fireplaces and our favourite decorative brick-laid timber wall cladding at the entry. Rhi and Jade bounced ideas off each other over scribbles and phone calls. The biggest outcome was the relocation of the kitchen to create an open plan kitchen/living/dining area with a strong connection to the outdoors.
For the external works, Matt’s team came in to design the deck, custom-built bench seat, and intricate pergola to create a great indoor-outdoor entertaining area. Matt took extra time to consider the shadowplay created by the pergola which enhances the outdoor experience and is ever-evolving at different times of the day and year.
